It seems that FTTH plans in India are starting to take up, seriously. On September 12, Lightreading reported on Bharti Airtel and BSNL‘s plans for PON deployments in New Delhi, Mumbai and other places. Last week another operator announced plans for FTTH deployments. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam LTD (MTNL) was reported to plan extending their fiber metro networks to FTTH networks, in certain places in the country. MTNL primary objective is to offer IPTV and “multiplay services” to the consumers.
